Our History

M C Moore Construction was founded in 2020 with a simple but powerful goal: to bring big-time general contractor experience to projects that often get overlooked. After years of working in large-scale commercial construction, we saw a gap in the market—owners and clients with smaller or mid-sized projects were too often passed over or underserved by large firms focused solely on size, cost, and extended timelines. We started M C Moore Construction to change that.

Built on a foundation of grit, responsiveness, and a work hard, play hard mentality, we set out to treat every project—regardless of scope—with the same level of attention, expertise, and care. Our team knows how to manage complexity, drive schedules, and deliver quality, but we also know how to have fun doing it. That culture has shaped who we are from day one: a close-knit, high-performing group that’s willing to roll up our sleeves, face challenges head-on, and make the construction process enjoyable—for our team and our clients.

Since our founding, we’ve continued to grow through word of mouth, repeat business, and long-term relationships. We’ve earned a reputation for being honest, agile, and fully committed to getting the job done right—no matter the project size. We’re not trying to be the biggest, just the best at what we do. And for every client that trusts us with their vision, we’re going to give them 110% effort, a transparent process, and a team that treats the project like it’s our own.

Mike’s passion for construction took root early—helping his father maintain a portfolio of family-owned rental properties laid the foundation for a lifelong career. While still in high school in Pittsburgh, he took his first job building custom residential homes, affirming his calling in the industry.

After relocating to Charlotte, Mike earned a degree in Construction Management from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. During his studies, an internship with a world-class general contractor introduced him to the world of commercial construction, where he played a role in the transformative Superblock Project in uptown Charlotte.

That experience led to a seven-year tenure as a project manager with a prominent national contractor, where he built a diverse and in-depth knowledge of the industry—from job sites to boardrooms. His work spanned multiple sectors across the country, including aviation, commercial, corporate, data and technology, higher education, hospitality, and interiors.

With both field and office experience, Mike offers a comprehensive skill set that spans early planning and design, preconstruction, execution, and full project oversight. Fueled by entrepreneurial spirit and hands-on expertise, he founded his own construction company in 2020—realizing a longtime dream to build with integrity, precision, and uncompromising quality.
